What is this resource, and how can you use it?

In 2024, we mapped all of Accountable Now’s members’ environmental policies and collated all of these actions our members are taking to translate commitment to practice. This database provides a wide range of internal policy actions that CSOs can use to improve existing or create new environmental policies.

You can view this database in four ways: by commitment area, departments, and difficulty. Browse through the different views through the menu below, finding examples that work for your organisation! Each action includes different snippets of helpful information, like if staff time or financial resources are needed. Examples in action from our members are also sprinkled throughout.

Accountable Now is a global collective of civil society actors with a common goal: to do good, better. In collaboration with our members and partners, we are working towards the goal of establishing civil society ecosystems that are led by people, accountable to them, and thriving all over the world.

We are a non-profit organisation that is committed to assisting other civil society, non-profit organisations, and actors to go beyond "tick-box" accountability exercises and embrace dynamic and continuous processes that centre around affected stakeholders and communities.
